The Problem

Depression is a huge problem in our society today. It is widely viewed as a weakness, when in actuality it is not. It is a medical illness caused by a chemical imbalance. If someone had cancer, would you call them weak? NO! They couldn't help it! Same with depression. 1 in 20 teenages will suffer from depression, but only 20% of these will be treated. Suicide ranks as the third leading cause of death for 15-29 year olds. In that age group, 12 people die every day by suicide. 2/3 of those who commit suicide are depressed. 1 of every 16 people diagnosed with depression eventually go on to end their lives through suicide. This isn't okay. Things need to be changed.

Our Mission

To create awareness about the reality and truth of depression. It isn't a weakness! It's an illness! And a treatable and curable one. It's much like having pneumonia: you need to seek help to get better! You can get better on your own, but you'll be better off and stronger if you seek help from a doctor. Depression isn't anything to be embarrased about. And you aren't the only one in this. To create awareness about the reality and truth of suicide. Suicide doesn't solve anything but create more problems for those you left behind. It's the most selfish decision anyone can make. And its a problem. Facts are telling us the truth: suicide is staggeringly high, and this needs to be changed!
